Did I mention that the weeks surrounding a pair of eclipses
can cause people to feel a little cuckoo?
Or you may feel extra tired, a little depressed, or just plain
sensitive. If you’ve been feeling
off kilter lately, rejoice because that means you’re perfectly in alignment.
These particular eclipses - first the annular solar
eclipse in Gemini on May 20th,
& now the lunar eclipse in Sagittarius - encourage you to to look at what
is going on in that noggin of yours.
What is the difference between your reality & your
perception of your reality? What
patterns of thought & perception need to go?
And my favorite part, once you attend to some necessary
mental clearing:
Be creative!
What new ways of thinking can you think up? BRAINSTORM!!!
BRAINSTORM.
BRAINSTORM. BRAINSTORM.
BRAINSTORM is the operative word during a lunar eclipse in
Sagittarius, especially when the sun is aligned with retrograding Venus in
Gemini, opposite the moon in Sagittarius, & all of the above squared by the
opposition of Mars in Virgo & Chiron in Pisces. That may sound like a bunch of nonsense, but we astrologers
call such a conglomeration a grand mutable cross.
Adding some spice to this cosmic stew are these two
planetary events:
On the afternoon of the 4th, Neptune stations retrograde in
early Pisces, vaguely in alignment with the eclipse’s grand cross.
On the evening of June 5th, Venus transits across the face
of the sun - if it’s clear that day, we’ll be able to see a little dark dot
moving across the apparent disc of the sun.
What does all of that mean?
It means that binary ways of thinking & perceiving are
no longer effective. It means it’s
time to allow new creative possibilities to emerge. It means it’s time to align your
values with what you put your energy into & vice versa. It means it’s time to get some
perspective on your philosophies, & make sure they’re in alignment with your
values. It means it’s time to get
your “higher self” (intuition & intelligence) & your “lower self”
(instinct & emotion) functioning together.
Also, mixed in with the lunar eclipse, is the energy of
Mercury at home in Gemini, trine Saturn retrograding in Libra. This pairs interestingly with the
1st/7th house placement of the eclipse, & thus brings up the issue of
relationship. Here is an
intriguing line of questioning, not for the faint of heart:
Where do you really stand in each & every one of your
relationships? i.e. Are you in,
are you out, or are you pretending to be in the middle?
If you can get past through that one, then I’d recommend
these thinks to think:
Are you overly dominant, overly dominated, or do you feel
equal? How can you replace any
codependent tendencies with interdependency? Are you communicating honestly & fairly? How can you cultivate neutrality, in
place of reaction?
For those of you not in a committed relationship but wanting
one, it’s still a good time to review the other kinds of relationships you are
in. It’s also a great time to
envision the kind of relationship you’d like to be in, particularly how it
feels to be in such a relationship - liberating? joyous?
stabilizing? inspiring?
surprising?
Relationships, with their particular sets of possibilities,
are like ice cream stores, with certain available flavors. In my relationship, we’ve got
thimbleberry-rose, salty mashed potato, raw turnip, basil-kumquat, or roasted
chicory, all in a rich yet gentle-on-the-sinuses coconut base. Nothing more, nothing less. You single folks are still wandering
& gawking in the ice cream store of infinite flavors... Which ones will you pick?
A week after this eclipse, at the last quarter moon on June
11th, Jupiter enters Gemini for a year.
This adds more fuel to the expand-your-mind fire. It also speeds things up, if you can
imagine things being any more hectic than they already are. If you are thinking about going back to
school, this would be a good year to do it. It’s also the year for writers & teachers to make a
significant leap on their paths.
That should tide you over nicely until my next report - on
the second (in a row!!!) new moon in Gemini, the summer solstice, & the
first of the next wave of Uranus/Pluto squares. In the meantime, if the eclipses are making you feel too
crazy, come see me for astrological consulting, Alithesis, or mentorship. Thanks
for reading!
